Search engines cross reference your details across your site, your Google Business Profile, directories, social accounts and anywhere else you are mentioned. Matching details confirm a single business. Conflicting details create doubt, and doubt costs you confidence in local results. The mismatches are usually small and accidental: a suite number present in one place and missing in another, Street versus St, an old phone number left on a directory from three years ago, or the business name with and without LLC. Each one on its own is minor and the pile of them is not.
This is maintenance work and it pays for itself. Pick one canonical format, write it down, and use it everywhere without variation. Audit the obvious places first: your own site footer, your profile, the big directories, your trade associations and your social pages. Pay special attention after a move or a number change, because old listings persist for years. A business that relocated from Raleigh to Texas and never cleaned up its old citations can keep sending mixed signals about where it actually operates long after the move.
