Start online before the vans arrive. Publish a real page for the new city, confirm local licensing and permit requirements, collect reviews from the first jobs there, and only verify a new Google Business Profile once you have a real staffed location with signage.
Search visibility takes months to build, so get started early. Look at what people in the new market search for. One city might be full of older homes with failing cast iron and need sewer camera inspections, while another has hard water and burns through water heaters. Confirm licensing and permit rules too, since plumbing licensing varies by state and sometimes by city. Then add a page to your current site describing your services there, the common problems you solve, and your response times.
Decide whether you are serving the city from your current shop or opening a branch. If you are driving in, add the city to your service area and let your website and reviews do the work. If you open a real branch with plumbers based there and a sign on the door, verify a new Google Business Profile for it. Give it a dedicated location page, a local number if you plan to use one, and identical name, address and phone details on Yelp, BBB, Apple Maps, Bing and Nextdoor.
Early jobs are your best marketing in a new city. Photograph the work, ask every happy customer for a review that mentions their neighborhood, and turn a few jobs into short write ups on the city page. While reviews build, Local Services Ads can bridge the gap, but do not rely on shared leads alone since those customers call several plumbers. Heights Digital can set up the new city pages and profile under our $399 monthly plan, and larger multi location programs start at $1,750 a month.
