SEO for Multi-Location and Multi-City Businesses: How to Rank in Every Market

August 26, 2026 • Heights Digital

Ranking in one city is hard enough. Ranking in five, ten or fifty takes structure. Here's the framework.

One Google Business Profile per real location

Each physical location gets its own verified profile with accurate categories, hours, photos and posts. Don't create profiles for places you don't have a presence.

One strong page per location or market

Each page needs genuinely local content: the team there, local projects, neighborhoods served, local reviews, directions, and FAQs specific to that market. Copy-paste pages with only the city name swapped perform poorly.

Service + city pages for key markets

For your most important markets, build pages for your top services in that city.

Reviews per location

Ask customers to review the specific location that served them.

Internal linking

A locations hub linking to state or region pages, then city pages, then service pages, with nearby locations linked to each other.

Consistent citations

Every location's name, address and phone must match everywhere.

Content that scales

Local project spotlights, city guides and seasonal content per market.
