Frank, the CEO of Heights Digital Media together with Mary, one of the social media specialists talk about Instagram’s new privacy policies for 2021.

Instagram’s New Privacy policies released in December 2020 are insane. Instagram continues its invasion of privacy by recording and storing everything your camera sees (at all times) and much more. One of the most disturbing of the new policies – getting even Madonna to boycott Instagram’s new policies – is that ANYTHING you search, download, or store on your phone is recorded and sold to data mining companies. Simply by having the app installed you will be under this new policy if you use the app, as having the app is equivalent to agreeing to their user policy.

What does the new Instagram do?

  • Able to view what you are looking at on your screen, for how long, access to your camera, and diagnose facial reaction.
  • View and analyze anything that is viewed through your camera. Everything is recorded and analyzed.
  • IG has the right to copy your address book, call log, and SMS history.
  • Collects every bit of information from whatever device you are using.
  • Collects information of everything you’ve searched, typed, watched, and downloaded.
